Today I would like to share with you an email I receive from a friend of mine in response to my blog. I especially like his friends interpretation of the meaning of life – “If you don’t eat, you don’t shit and you die” LOL!
I have since started working on my Bucket List! Enjoy!
“The meaning of life is pondered by everyone at some point in time.
There are a couple of good exercises to help crystallise your own meaning of life, that I use. Not that I’ve found the answer. A very old friend of mine once told me his interpretation of the meaning of life. Quite simple really. “If you don’t eat, you don’t shit and you die”. As good an answer as any.
The old strategic tool called a situation analysis. Where are we now, where do we want to be, how do we get there and who does it effect. Four key points.
Other things like a bucket list are essential, so if you haven’t made a bucket list, do it!
In reflection if you draw a line across a page. Start on the left and put down your age at which you can recall your very first memory. (like your very first Christmas present you received). Just find a starting point. Then think of something that you can recall, moving forward, for each year, up to today. Include things like births , deaths and marriages, any experiences that come to mind.
Map your life journey, because this starts to reflect on the things that are most memorable to you. You will find these things are actually the things that you most like, fear, love and hate. It can become quite an emotional rollercoaster.
So the steps are.
- Life map,
- Bucket list,
- Situation analysis
- Then start thinking about the next five years and what you can target on the list.”
Until next time,
